Ms.
St. Clair received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992
from the University of California at Santa Barbara,
majoring in Law and Society, with an emphasis in Criminal
Justice. Thereafter she attended law school at the University
of San Diego, where she received her Juris Doctor degree
in 1995. She is admitted to practice by the State of
California, the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals
and the District Court, Southern District of California.
Since September 1996, Ms. St. Clair has been defending
workers' compensation claims under the California workers'
compensation system, the federal Workers' Compensation
Act and the Longshore & Harborworkers' Act with
the firm. She is a certified workers' compensation specialist
in the State of California. Additionally, she defends
employers with respect to Labor Code §132a and
Serious and Willful Misconduct actions. Ms. St.Clair
has past experience investigating fraud. She has worked
for the U.S. Attorney's office and has experience in
the federal Tort Claims Act, Title VII claims and medical
malpractice.
Ms. St. Clair, who was her high school valedictorian,
is a frequent public speaker on state and Federal workers'
compensation topics. She is often requested to address
issues concerning the AMA Guides to Impairment. Ms.
St.Clair has been an instructor for the Insurance Educational
Association, teaching the Advanced Class of Case Law
and the Labor Code, and has acted as a seminar leader
for various Council on Education in Management events.
